CHORELORE

How ChoreLore works

ChoreLore is a family chore app built like a video game season. Kids and parents check off chores, earn XP, and play together as one team. Parents stay in charge of what gets approved and paid.

1. Set up your family

A parent creates the family account and adds everyone. Each kid gets suggested chores for their age — making the bed and feeding pets for little ones, laundry and dishes for older kids — and you can add your own. Daily chores, weekly chores and take-turns rotations (whose turn it is to walk the dog) are all built in.

2. Everyone plays on their own device

Kids sign in on their own tablet or phone with a short code a parent makes — no email, password or PIN. ChoreLore works on Android phones, Amazon Fire tablets (get the app), iPhone, iPad and any web browser.

3. Pick a season

Choose a sport — basketball, baseball, football or soccer — or a fantasy quest, and a length of 4, 8 or 12 weeks. Pick your team mascot and everyone picks their character. Each week brings a new rival team, or the next chapter of the quest. Every chore adds XP to the team score; beat the week's target to win. Start mid-week and you warm up with a practice preseason until Monday.

4. Earn XP — and allowance, if you want

XP raises each player's level and unlocks new characters. Turn on allowance and the same chores also earn real money on payday, within a monthly budget you set per kid. Kids can save it or spend it on items from a wish list you set up and approve.

5. Parents approve

Approve finished chores (optionally with a photo), reward requests and wish-list purchases from the Parent page. Grown-ups can play too, or coach the kids' team.
